This walking track provides a route from Sumner to Evans Pass or across to Taylors Mistake. You can also use it to create a nice loop by linking with the Captain Thomas Track.
The track starts from a stile on Evans Pass Rd, past the intersection with Sumnervale Drive. Zigzag up under the bluffs before coming to a junction. Here, you can decide to head left to Taylors Mistake or turn right up to Rapanui Bush and Evans Pass. The track to Evans Pass travels gently up through open tussock. The track to Taylors Mistake weaves through rocky bluffs, up past the Scarborough woolshed and sidles gently down to meet Taylors Mistake Rd. Please walk carefully on the road.
You can also use it to create a nice loop by linking with the Captain Thomas Track.
